Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Assists surgical teams by ensuring proper equipment, supplies, and patient safety throughout the operative process. Collaborates with surgeons and anesthesiologists to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Circulate during surgical procedures to monitor patient condition, surgical field, and equipment functionality.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure sterile environment to prevent infections.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including anatomical positioning and safety checks.
• Assess patient status pre, intra, and post-surgery, and document care activities accurately.
• Handle, dispose of, and document biohazardous materials and tissue specimens safely.
• Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment, utilizing facility information systems as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (A.S.) required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• One year of full-time OR experience required.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor is mandatory.
• PALS certification preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.
