Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the unique needs, goals, and treatment preferences of each client seeking substance use disorder treatment.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing.

• Facilitate individual counseling sessions, helping clients to explore their feelings and motivations in a non-judgmental environment.
\n
• Lead engaging group therapy sessions that foster peer support and community-building among individuals on similar recovery journeys.
\n
• Collaborate closely with a team of psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other professionals to provide coordinated care for clients.

• Provide crisis intervention services during substance-related emergencies, ensuring immediate support and stabilization.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available community resources to foster informed decision-making.

• Maintain meticulous documentation of sessions and treatment plans that comply with legal and ethical standards.

• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to case discussions, sharing insights and receiving feedback to enhance practice.

• Remain current on the latest research and best practices in substance use disorder treatment to continually inform therapeutic approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role will primarily focus on individuals struggling with substance use disorders, many of whom may also face co-occurring mental health challenges. It is essential to approach each patient with empathy, patience, and a strengths-based perspective, understanding the intricate relationship between addiction and mental health. You will play a vital role in facilitating their recovery, providing strategies and support that lead to positive life changes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.

• Comprehensive knowledge of substance use disorders, as well as familiarity with various evidence-based treatment models tailored to addiction recovery.

• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy specifically in the field of addiction treatment is essential.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with clients in a compassionate and constructive manner.

• Capable of maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring patient confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software applications.
\n
• A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team dynamic.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of one year of direct experience in providing counseling services to individuals overcoming substance use disorders.

Compensation and Benefits\n
