The Tax Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to clients while also leading internal team members and helping shape the future of our practice. Relocation Assistance AvailableMajor Responsibilities:Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned clients, providing strategic guidance and ensuring exceptional customer service;Oversee the preparation and review of a wide range of tax returns including 1040, 1120, and 1065;Lead client engagements, manage workflow priorities, and oversee the allocation of work across team membersDevelop and maintain trusted client relationships while identifying proactive tax planning, estate planning, and advisory opportunitiesReview accounting activities and financial information for assigned clients to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.Provide technical guidance and collaborate with team members on complex tax and accounting mattersIdentify opportunities to expand client services and communicate recommendations, updates, and strategic insights effectively.Monitor engagement profitability through billing oversight, WIP management, and effective project execution.Coach, mentor, and develop team members while driving process improvement and operational efficiencyContribute to the growth of the firm's advisory services, strategic initiatives, and overall practice development.Skills and Abilities:Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax compliance for individuals, partnerships and corporations.Ability to review complex tax returns and identify tax planning opportunities for clients.Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients and team members.Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements, competing priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.Advanced analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking abilities.Strong business judgement and ability to make sound decision in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with tax and accounting software including CCH and QuickBooks Online and Desktop.Strong understanding of GAAP and tax-basis accounting principles.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldDemonstrated progressive public accounting experience with increasing responsibility in tax preparation, tax review, client management, and staff developmentMinimum 5 years of experience in a Tax Manager or equivalent leadership role within a public accounting firm.Experience with CCH Axcess and QuickBooks preferredCPA license, CPA eligibility, or active pursuit of CPA licensure preferred.Benefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision;GAP Benefits;Supplemental Benefits;Life & AD&D Insurance;Short & Long-term Disability Plans;401(k) with company matching;Bonius Structure;Flexible PTO with sick time;Incentive ProgramDevelopment ProgramCompany Wellness Program;Working Conditions:Must be able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including computers, office equipment, telephones, etc. Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
