Staff Accountant

Position Purpose This position will work closely with the plant controller in daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in managing financial results, requiring strong process management and critical thinking skills. Essential Functions and Basic Duties Review for accuracy and record daily manufacturing usage and consumption. Manage receipts, settlements, sales, invoicing, billing, payments, books, records, and financial statements. Oversee company accounting activities. Enter all contracts for AR and AP. Fill out and submit monthly government reports, including Tonnage Taxes and Sorghum Checkoff. Assist with internal and external audits. Provide support to the front desk and AP clerk. Assist with inventory control, including cycle counting and parts tracking. Help streamline existing processes and create new procedures. Assist with organizing and general housekeeping of warehouse. File end of month or year reports to the provincial security regulatory authority. Qualifications Education / Certification 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, inventory, or asset control at a renewable fuel organization; training will be provided to the right candidate. Analytics and problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of accounting software and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel. Required Knowledge, Experience & Skills / Abilities Organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong attention to detail, analytical, and results orientation. Time management.
