Job Title Clerk Helper – 1539 Parkmoor Ave, San Jose, CA 95128 The Clerk Helper is an entry‑level store position, offering opportunities for growth and learning within the Save Mart family. Clerk Helpers play an important role in the efficient operations of the front‑end by providing friendly, fast, and effective customer service. The goal is to create a welcoming store atmosphere and establish loyal repeat customers. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Provide a remarkable shopping experience by greeting and engaging customers, offering assistance, being approachable and friendly, and going the extra mile. Perform store sweeps with emphasis on the front‑end and entrance areas; keep floors free of spills or debris to ensure a safe environment. Perform routine and daily cleaning of registers and belts, empty check‑stand trash cans, dust shelves, and face them. Collect all shopping carts from the parking lot and maintain a cart‑free lot throughout the shift. Perform price checks and assist with go‑backs, returning items to the correct location with perishables as a priority. Assist clerks by moving lines quickly at busy times by bagging groceries efficiently and protecting quality and condition of items. Hiring pay range: $18.45–$18.45 per hour. Requirements No experience required. Must be at least 16 years old. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Ability to continuously walk, stand, reach, and bend. Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures. Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Strong team player willing to learn, work hard, and have fun. Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Perform other duties as assigned.
