Job Description
Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular ICU

Schedule

Self-scheduling with every other weekend required. Orientation: 12 hours.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 26 weeks. Average daily census of 24 patients.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Cardiovascular experience, including open heart and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) experience.
• Active state license required upon submission.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, VIP, MAB, or CPI (in-person course).
• Relias EKG test prior to start; onsite EKG competency required.
• Experience with post-cardiac surgery care, ventilator management, and advanced EKG competency.
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and perform ABG interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a cardiovascular ICU setting.
• Monitor patients' conditions and manage ventilators, arterial, central, and PICC lines.
• Administer medications and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform necessary procedures such as suctioning and blood product administration.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and interventions.

Compliance / Notes

Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed). COVID-19 vaccination not required.
