Covenant House Inc. is a community-based healthcare facility seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to become an essential part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments.  The ideal candidate will be a vital member of the healthcare team and must have medical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform technical tasks. 

Responsibilities:

• Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
• Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
• Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
• Escort patients to exam rooms
• ​Take patient vital signs, such as blood pressure and weight
• Give injections or medications as directed by physicians
• Help with exams and procedures, such as EKGs and phlebotomy
• Prepare patients for exams
• Assist during medical treatments
• Schedule patient appointments
• Maintain and update patient records
• Follow up with patients regarding tests and procedures
• Work with insurance companies
• Answer phone calls from patients, physicians, and medical facilities
• Check patients in for appointments
• Manage the front desk
• Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies
• Set up equipment and instruments
• Sterilize instruments
• Clean and calibrate equipment
• Clean and stock exam rooms
• Provide instructions and test results
• Other duties as assigned within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a team player with a natural inclination to help others
• Certification a must
