Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled OB Tech for a 13-week travel assignment in Edmonds, Washington. Number of beds: 157

Trauma center: Level IV

Charting system: Altera (Paragon), Cerner (Millennium), Dell, Epic (Cadence, Care Everywhere, ClinDoc), GE Healthcare (Centricity)

Required Qualifications:

• One year of recent experience as an OB Tech
• Valid state license, certification, or registration in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Summary:

OB Techs work under the supervision and delegatory authority of obstetricians and labor and delivery nurses to facilitate safe and effective obstetrical procedures. They ensure that the labor and delivery environment is safe and that equipment functions properly, assisting with childbirth and related interventions while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.

Essential Work Functions:

• Prepares and maintains the labor and delivery room, ensuring cleanliness, proper equipment setup, and readiness for obstetrical procedures
• Stocks and organizes obstetrical supplies and ensures all related equipment is functional and available
• Assists in preparing patients for labor, delivery, and postpartum care within scope of practice
• Transports patients to and from the labor and delivery unit as needed
• Assists obstetricians and nurses during deliveries and obstetrical procedures, including C-sections and emergency interventions, by passing instruments, maintaining sterility, and providing necessary support
• Supports patient care by collaborating with health team members to ensure seamless workflow and patient safety
• Ensures proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments, surfaces, and other supplies and equipment to maintain infection control standards
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills:

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
• The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
• Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
• Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
