Position is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients of the Center and coordinating an expanded curriculum in obstetrics, including the advanced OB track for residents. Examples of Duties Assist in the development of the expanded obstetric curriculum goals and objectives. Develop and deliver core curriculum conferences in prenatal, delivery and antenatal care for the residency program and participate as part of the OB Interdisciplinary Team. Participate in rounds, home visits and other activities as requested. Teach family medicine residents basic prenatal examinations and how to monitor progress throughout pregnancy. Develop formats for staffing and chart reviews on obstetrical patients. Teach students and residents how to manage normal and low‑risk pregnancies. Maintain certification as an Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics Provider and Instructor. Perform periodic literature reviews on obstetrical topics. Participate in development and/or delivery of presentations in areas of own interest. Participate in collaborative departmental research or grants. Assist in developing outreach prenatal clinics in underserved populations. Aid in coordination of all patient‑care activities relating to obstetrical patients of the Center and Central Counties Community Health Center. Assess patients to identify risk factors, facilitate referrals to community‑based services, and develop care plans. Under physician supervision, provide direct patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings. Participate in obstetrical call in collaboration with faculty physicians. Attend faculty meetings and core conferences on a regular basis. Take part in Center Peer Review and Quality Improvement Activities. Provide emergency services to patients as needed, including those without primary care physicians. Serve on Center‑wide Committees and school/department committees. Participate in community outreach projects. Maintain competence in clinical practice through continuing education and professional conferences, and maintain licensure/certification. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations. Certification as a Nurse Midwife at the time of hire. Licensed or eligible to be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse at the time of hire. Desired Qualifications Preference given to those with prior experience in a federally qualified health center or rural health clinic and teaching experience. Benefits The budgeted annual salary range is $118,025 to $129,827.50, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement.
