Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Behavioral Health Child Unit | New Grad

Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center‑Sioux Falls Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America) Pay Range: $22.75 - $31.50 (actual pay rate dependent upon experience) Job Overview The Avera Behavioral Health Adolescent & Child Units are designed to be a structured and age‑appropriate therapeutic environment for adolescents and children to learn to understand problems, use healthy coping skills and set and complete goals. As an LPN, you will practice under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, licensed physician, or other health care provider. You will organize and direct those aspects of care for which you are accountable, communicate and coordinate care with well‑defined nursing diagnoses, and collaborate with the entire health team. What You Will Do Collect data and conduct a focused nursing assessment of the health status of a patient. Participate with other health care providers in the development and modification of the patient‑centered health care plan. Implement nursing interventions within a patient‑centered health care plan. Assist in the evaluation of responses to interventions. Provide for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly. Advocate for the best interest of the patient. Communicate and collaborate with patients and members of the health care team. Assist with health counseling and teaching. Delegate and assign nursing interventions to implement the plan of care. Essential Qualifications Must be able to work the specified hours. Must have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties. Must be able to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Board of Nursing license in the state of practice. Active license in the state of practice upon hire.
