- Evaluate patients to determine functional needs, goals, and treatment priorities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence, safety, and daily function.
- Implement evidence-based interventions to improve ADLs, IADLs, strength, coordination, cognition, and mobility.
- Fabricate, fit, or recommend adaptive equipment and educate patients and caregivers on its use.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Supervise and mentor COTAs while directing patient treatment plans, as appropriate.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety strategies, and functional independence.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and a collaborative team culture.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (or anticipated graduation).
- Current New Mexico OT license, or eligibility for licensure upon graduation.
- Strong clinical reasoning and evaluation skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and functional outcomes.
- Experience in rural healthcare or a passion for serving rural communities.
- Comfort supervising and collaborating with COTAs.
- Strong documentation and time-management skills.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
