Senior Claims Advocate

Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Advocate to serve as a trusted resource for clients when they need it most, during a claim. This role is responsible for desk-level claim handling across multiple lines of business, acting as the liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams to ensure claims are reported, tracked, and resolved efficiently and empathetically. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with hands-on experience across property, auto, liability, condo/co-op, and related claims, and is comfortable managing the full claims lifecycle from first notice of loss through resolution. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the claims process, providing clear, timely, and compassionate communication from first notice of loss to final resolution. Handle desk-level claim intake and processing across multiple lines of business, including: Property (homeowners, commercial property, condo/co-op/HOA) Personal and commercial auto General and personal liability Summons and complaints / litigated claims Process First Notice of Loss (FNOL) submissions accurately and promptly across various carrier platforms. Download, monitor, and manage claims through multiple carrier websites and portals, ensuring data is current and complete. Track claim status and proactively update clients, producers, and internal contacts on progress, next steps, and outstanding items. Review claim files for accuracy, coverage confirmation, and completeness; flag discrepancies or coverage issues to producers or management as needed. Advocate on behalf of clients with carriers and adjusters to help ensure fair, timely, and appropriate claim resolution. Maintain organized, accurate claim records within the agency management system. Coordinate with underwriters, adjusters, attorneys, and other third parties as needed on complex or litigated claims. Identify trends or recurring issues and communicate them to leadership to support carrier relationship management and client retention. Provide occasional guidance or mentorship to junior claims or service staff. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in claims handling, claims advocacy, or a related insurance service role, ideally within an independent agency, brokerage, or carrier environment. Demonstrated experience across multiple lines of business , including property, condo/co-op, auto, and liability claims. Familiarity with litigated claims , including summons and complaints, and the ability to coordinate appropriately with legal counsel and carriers. Working knowledge of desk-level claim handling processes, including FNOL intake and carrier portal navigation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a client-first, service-oriented approach. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; comfortable managing multiple open claims simultaneously. Proficiency with Applied Epic and carrier claims portals is a plus. Active NY Property & Casualty license preferred, or willingness to obtain. Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote or hybrid setting, while maintaining strong team communication.
