Job Title:  Facilities Superintendent

Location:  Houma, LA

Position Overview:  A Facilities Superintendent plays a crucial role in the maintenance and management of building systems and infrastructure. They are responsible for ensuring that all facilities operate efficiently and safely. This position often involves a combination of technical expertise and managerial skills, with responsibilities ranging from overseeing maintenance to implementing improvements that enhance functionality and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Supervise the facilities department staff and external subcontractors

·       Design, implement, and manage facility upgrades and renovations

·       Supervise routine maintenance and repairs of building systems

·       Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

·       Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and operational expenses

·       Coordinate with contractors and service providers for specialized tasks

·       Monitor and evaluate building systems for performance and efficiency

·       Prepare reports on facility operations and maintenance activities

·       Conduct facility inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions

·       Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs

·       Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems

·       Plan and oversee facility layout alterations and modifications

·       Respond to emergency situations involving facility infrastructure

·       Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and facility modifications

·       Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs

·       Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facility Management, or related field and/or related course work or equivalent experience plus a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the field required.

·       A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience required

·       Shipbuilding industry experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

·       Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software

·       Understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems

·       Strong analytical and organizational skills

·       Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills
