Assistant Project Manager - MechanicalLocation: Woodbridge, VASalary: $60K-$100K (Based on Experience)Position OverviewWe are seeking an organized, proactive Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical to support the delivery of HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects across residential, multifamily and commercial portfolios. The role supports project managers in planning, coordinating trade partners, controlling costs and schedules, and ensuring quality and safety on site. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical knowledge, construction experience, and strong communication skills.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Project Manager in planning and executing mechanical construction projects (HVAC, piping, plumbing) from pre-construction through closeout.Support development and maintenance of project schedules, monitor critical path activities and follow up with subcontractors to keep work on track.Help prepare, issue and track submittals, RFIs, change orders and construction correspondence to ensure timely resolutions.Coordinate mechanical trades, vendors and third-party inspectors to ensure proper sequencing and installation per drawings and specifications..Qualifications 1+ years of experience in an Assistant Project Manager, Assistant PM, Project Engineer or similar role focused on mechanical construction (HVAC, piping, plumbing) on residential, multifamily or commercial projects. Direct mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems, piping and plumbing installations and understanding of MEP coordination and building codes. Proven ability to support schedule management, cost tracking, submittal/RFI workflows and change order processes on construction projects.Strong communication skills, ability to work with trades, owners, engineers and general contractors; strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
