Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 1 year of recent experience required License: Pending Compact license accepted Certifications: BLS NIHSS CPI preferred Must-Have: Nurse to patient ratios 1:6 Unit accepts 1st time travelers Epic charting experience required Ability to float to like units Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical Neuro Registered Nurse on the night shift. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients in a surgical neuro unit. The unit has a total of 32 beds and typically maintains a patient census of 32. The position requires rapid response team activation. The nurse must have experience in blood product administration and central line blood draw. Additional required skills include care and management of chest tubes, colostomies, and feeding tubes. The nurse will also provide hemodialysis management, wound care, and peripheral line management. Isolation precautions and PPE guidelines must be followed strictly. The workweek includes 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period. Scheduling is self-managed. There are no call requirements. The position involves interdisciplinary support from various services. Team collaboration is essential for effective patient care and management.
