Lead Catering Captain | Part-Time | Benchmark International Arena

The Lead Catering Captain provides support and assistance with Catering activities as well as providing assistance to the Catering Managers in the profitable management of catering operations, as needed. The Catering Supervisor will actively and independently manage all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment. The Catering Supervisor will provide oversight and resolution responsibilities for employee performance issues. The Catering Supervisor must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency, and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth running of any assigned event. A critical function of the Catering Supervisor will be to actively mentor, train, and help employees meet company quality standards. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule, which includes evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, and self-direction.

This role pays an hourly rate of $23.00-$25.00

This position will remain open until September 25, 2026

Responsibilities include reviewing Banquet Event Orders, conducting pre-banquet meetings, checking room set-up, ensuring proper handling of equipment, managing catered events from set-up to tear-down, ensuring compliance with alcohol service policies, providing direction and supervision to hourly staff, monitoring product quality, and ensuring staff adheres to safety, health, and sanitation guidelines during events.

Qualifications include 2-3 years of experience in catering or banquets, ability to work a variable work schedule, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment, ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner, a High School Diploma, G.E.D., or related Food Service Job Experience, ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly throughout the day, knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
