The role requires a solid foundation in nursing with a focus on critical patient needs, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care in an IMCU setting, handling common diagnoses such as neurological, cardiac, trauma, respiratory conditions, and more. Monitor and support patients on chronic ventilators, as well as those requiring respiratory therapy assistance. Utilize specialty equipment including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap machines, and other advanced technologies. Document patient care accurately using the EPIC Electronic Medical Record system. Participate in floating to other units as necessary. Patient Demographics The registered nurse will care for adult patients aged 18 and older in a 64-bed IMCU, with 15 designated neuro beds. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Current RN licenses including an active New York license. Up-to-date certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Complete skills checklist matching the specialty. Drivers license with a matching address to demographic information. Must include Reason for Time Off (RTO) at the time of submission. Shift Information The position requires working night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with block scheduling not guaranteed.
