Assistant / Associate Professor in Cancer Immunology

The Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Emory University School of Medicine, and the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University invite applications at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels for a tenure-track faculty position within the broad fields of cancer immunology and immunotherapy. 

We offer a highly interactive, collegial research environment. The Department is scientifically diverse, with strengths in adaptive immunity, bacterial pathogenesis, molecular virology, and vaccinology. Winship Cancer Institute is Georgia’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and serves as the coordinating center for cancer research, education, and care across Emory University and Emory Healthcare. Cancer Immunology is one of four major research programs at Winship, supported by the Winship Center for Cancer Immunology (WCCI), which provides support for translational and team science research and serves as the central hub for immune monitoring. Winship investigators conduct more than 250 therapeutic clinical trials each year, enrolling over 1000 patients. The recently launched Winship Cellular Therapy Initiative (WCTI) further expands opportunities in adoptive T cell therapy for solid tumors, including TIL, CAR, and TCR-engineered approaches. Graduate education is robust at Emory, and our faculty have access to multiple graduate programs. Our research infrastructure is state-of-the-art and includes many excellent core facilities. Our intellectual environment is enriched by proximity to, and collaborations with, The Emory Immunology and Vaccine Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory Transplant Center, the Emory National Biomedical Research Center, the joint Biomedical Engineering Department at GA Tech and Emory, and the Centers for Disease Control. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree and a record of productive postdoctoral or independent research. Ideal candidates will be collaborative scientists who bring new perspectives and exciting science to the Department. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program, and to participate in our graduate, medical student, and postdoctoral training programs.
