Activities Director

We are seeking a motivated and organized professional to oversee engaging programs and experiences that enrich the daily lives of residents, participants, or members. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strong planning skills, and a passion for building meaningful connections through social, recreational, and wellness-focused activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of activities, events, and programs tailored to the needs and interests of the community.
• Develop monthly and seasonal calendars that promote engagement, participation, and overall well-being.
• Build positive relationships with participants, families, staff, and community partners to support successful programming.
• Oversee activity supplies, budgets, scheduling, and transportation needs as applicable.
• Encourage participation by creating inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable experiences for a diverse group of individuals.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership to align activities with organizational goals and care or service plans.
• Coordinate special events, celebrations, outings, volunteer opportunities, and group functions.
• Maintain accurate records related to attendance, program outcomes, and required documentation.
• Monitor the effectiveness of activities and adjust offerings based on feedback and participation trends.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in recreation, event coordination, programming, social services, or a related field preferred.
• Experience interacting with the elderly and those with memory care needs
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging, varied, and meaningful programming.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Comfort using basic technology for scheduling, communication, and recordkeeping.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in recreation, gerontology, hospitality, or a related area is a plus.
