QC Inspector

Job Title: QC Inspector Job Description

Join a dynamic team in a mid-sized company specializing in custom injection molding. In this role, you will ensure the quality of smaller parts, typically ranging from one inch to four inches, with a focus on plastic parts and insert molding. Your work will be essential in maintaining customer specifications and ensuring product excellence.

Responsibilities

• Take sample parts from machines and bring them to the quality lab for inspection.

• Measure parts according to specifications using calipers, drop indicators, and micrometers.

• Enter quality data into software accurately.

• Use equipment both on the floor and in the lab to ensure quality control.

• Communicate discrepancies effectively and proactively.

Essential Skills

• Prior experience working in the quality department with plastic parts.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge and experience using calipers, drop indicators, and micrometers.

• Ability to read blueprints and possess basic math, computer, writing, and reading skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school graduate with inspection experience preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision.

• Experience using optical comparators.

Work Environment

Work the 3rd shift hours from 11:45 PM to 8:15 AM, Monday to Saturday morning, with initial training on the 1st shift from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM. The role requires comfort working night shifts, fostering a unique camaraderie among team members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
