After School Care We are seeking energetic, responsible individuals who enjoy playing with children and working in an outdoor environment. Staff members will supervise and engage children in after school activities, lead games and group play, and help create a safe, welcoming, and positive atmosphere each afternoon. Typical hours are Monday–Friday from 2:45–6:00 PM. A pay increase is available for applicants with a CDL. Equestrian Program Specialist Intern Are you an adult (at least 21) who wants to gain skills and experience in a busy equestrian program? This is a full‑time, 12‑month, live‑in internship with shared housing, utilities, and many meals provided. Chestnut Ridge is seeking an Equestrian Program Specialist Intern with at least 4 years of riding experience who puts safety first and enjoys working with horses and children. Responsibilities include planning and leading summer horse camps, guiding group trail rides, teaching horseback riding lessons, attending off‑site riding trips, staffing horse birthday parties, and gaining skills in feeding and managing a herd of 20+ horses and ponies. Kitchen Team Seeking reliable, experienced person to help the kitchen team in creating quality, nutritious, made‑from‑scratch meals for campers and retreat guests. Qualified applicants will have a desire to work with fresh whole foods, experience cooking for large quantities of people, and a positive attitude. Applicants must be hard‑working, dependable, and team‑players to work in this dynamic bustling kitchen. Flexible schedule with most meals served Mon‑Fri during summer camp and primarily on weekends the rest of the year. Seasonal Employees – Retreat Groups Camp Chestnut Ridge is looking for part‑time seasonal employees to lead programs for retreat groups. Activities range from facilitating team‑building activities to lifeguarding to working on our ropes course. Programs usually happen on Saturdays and Sundays, though weekday work is occasionally available too. Most programming occurs in the Fall and Spring. No experience necessary, but you must have a love for the outdoors and for working with groups. Summer Team Opportunities This is a 12‑month internship. $340 per week + housing, utilities, meals (when served to camp guests). This internship is focused on camping career development. Key focus areas of learning include hospitality/retreat management, children/youth ministry and development, administrative management, event planning, program and partnership development, and ACA policy review. In this role, you will participate in and learn about all that happens in the non‑summer seasons of camping ministry life. This will include working with the After School program daily. You will also learn about designing programs and teaching staff effective leadership skills in relation to mission and goals. You will play a leadership role for the summer camp season as well. Interns will live in a Christian camp community which prays, worships, plays, and works with one another. Additional mentoring from seasoned camp professionals will help prepare you for your career in camping or other ministry fields. Outdoor Education Do you like working outside? Do you have a love for science and nature and sharing it with children? Camp Chestnut Ridge is looking for part‑time seasonal employees to teach Outdoor Education programs to school‑aged children. Our programs are designed to meet science standards for the state of North Carolina. Facilitating team‑building activities with students is also available. Programs usually start in the morning and are completed by early afternoon (weekdays only). Most programming occurs in the Fall and Spring. No experience necessary, but you must have a love for nature, teaching and have plenty of enthusiasm.
