Medical Assistant - Full-Time

Location: Sarasota County, FL

Work Location: In Person
Compensation: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

A growing healthcare organization in Sarasota County, FL is seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join its dynamic clinical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a patient-focused Medical Assistant who is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and has strong phlebotomy and patient-care skills .

• Perform patient intake, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs

• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments

• Perform blood draws and phlebotomy procedures

• Administer medications and vaccinations according to provider orders

• Perform patient triage and obtain/document vital signs

• Accurately document patient information in the EMR

• Educate patients regarding care plans, medications, and preventive healthcare

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

• Collaborate closely with providers and other clinical/support staff

• Provide excellent patient service and maintain a compassionate, professional approach

• Active Florida Medical Assistant certification required

• 3+ years of phlebotomy experience

• Prior experience in primary care, urgent care, or an outpatient clinical setting preferred

• Strong blood-draw/phlebotomy skills

• Excellent patient communication and customer service skills

• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• EMR proficiency required; experience with Elation or similar systems preferred
