Cardiovascular Intervention Supervisor, Cardiac Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology - Day Shift

Overview OVERVIEW This role requires strong leadership, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills to support staff development, operational goals, patient safety, and high‑quality patient care. The individual supervises nursing and technical staff, ensures compliance with accreditation and radiation safety standards, participates in performance improvement initiatives, and partners with leadership to maintain a skilled, patient‑focused team. Additional responsibilities include staff evaluations, scheduling, mentoring, budget support, equipment and supply coordination, and promoting excellence in patient experience and service. Schedule and Location Schedule: 40 hours per week. Shift: Monday to Friday Day Shift Hours with 24/7 Accountability. Location: Javon Bea Hospital - Rockford, IL. Responsibilities Strong problem‑solving abilities in complex situations. Ability to work within the budget and productivity targets to meet organizational objectives. Participate in and support plans for selection of staff, evaluation of staff, orientation of new staff, continued education and development of staff, competency evaluation of staff, and appropriate scheduling of staff based on patient acuity. Support and partner with the Manager/Clinical Leader, ensuring that staff knowledge, skills, and behaviors are consistent and aligned with unit goals. Possess outstanding physician relationship skills. Maintain a patient‑focused approach with a commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality, safety, and customer service. Accountable for patient satisfaction (PressGaney and HCAHPS) action plans to achieve targets in assigned areas. Support process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change identified for assigned areas. Understand accreditation and certification requirements and standards for assigned responsibilities. Implement and monitor radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate purchase of supplies and equipment. Communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals and groups through compassion, creativity, and consistent visibility. Participate in hospital and department committees. Demonstrate ability in developing and mentoring staff and colleagues. Lead by example, consistently demonstrating highly professional behavior. Demonstrate personal and professional accountability and hold others to the same standard. Exhibit a passion for nursing. Serve as a role model and coach for Critical Moments of Service Standards and service recovery. Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance. Utilize critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the chain of command. Support the professional nurse continuum and nursing clinical ladder for RNs (CARE). Directly supervise CVI RNs, Pre & Post RNs, and Technologists. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with management, including employee evaluations, performance management, and timekeeping as applicable. Perform other duties as assigned based on department needs. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, completion of the appropriate Mercyhealth Clinic Ladder Program if applicable. BSN or upon hire BSN completion agreement for enrollment in an accredited BSN program. Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or Associate’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology with RCIS certification. Certification and Licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within six (6) months. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within six (6) months. National Institute for Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) obtained within six (6) months. Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices (WI & IL) or Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist registration (RCIS) issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Other Skills and Abilities Ability to follow both written and oral instructions accurately and consistently. Level of Supervision General supervision: The supervisor provides general guidelines, priorities, and deadlines, but the employee is expected to use initiative to complete recurring tasks independently.
