Engagement Editor

The Nation is hiring an engagement editor. Ideal candidates can distill data analytics into actionable insights and ensure our work finds a large and loyal audience. They should have a deep understanding of the social media ecosystem, be familiar with image and video platforms, and have the ability to write clean, compelling copy tailored to each social media feed. Experience with paid digital marketing is a plus. We’re looking for an engagement editor who closely follows emerging and evolving social networks. Key responsibilities: Update and curate The Nation homepage Work alongside the email marketing manager to produce and send e‑mail newsletters Manage The Nation’s Facebook page, X account, Instagram, Bluesky, Substack, and other social media platforms Monitor Chartbeat and other analytic tools to help the editorial staff understand and expand our audience and to make decisions about how and where to promote our work Compile regular analytics reports with actionable insights Maximize search engine optimization, especially by informing and helping our editorial team know how to optimize search terms with the latest SEO techniques Strategize about how to distribute our work on outside news platforms like SmartNews, Flipboard, and Apple News Requirements: Strong news judgment, high journalistic standards, and an understanding of the role and importance of The Nation’s journalism in the media landscape Knowledge of social media trends and best practices, including the use of short‑form video Ability to analyze performance metrics and the results of paid acquisition campaigns The ability to write clean, compelling copy quickly The applicant must be willing to relocate to the New York metropolitan area and work in our Manhattan office two to three days a week #J-18808-Ljbffr About Asc Advisors Llc
