Senior Product Manager – Legal Practice Areas Role PurposeThe Senior Product Manager is responsible forcustomer‑and market‑driven product leadershipfor one or more legal practice areas within the Legal Markets Group portfolio.This role serves as adeep subject‑matter expert and market interpreter, translating customer needs, legal developments, and competitive dynamics intoclear product and go‑to‑market direction. The Senior Product Manager partners closely withEditorial, with theLead Product Manager responsible for the content roadmap, and with theother Product Managersto ensure that customer insight, content strategy, and commercial execution are tightly aligned.While primarily practice‑area focused, the role may also contribute selectively toenterprise‑wide initiativeswhere deep legal or market expertise is required.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer & Market Insight (Primary Focus)Customer and market understanding is acore accountabilityof this role.Act as theprimary source of customer and market insightfor assigned legal practice area(s).Engage directly and regularly with: Customers and prospectsSales and account management teamsExternal practitioners, advisors, and industry bodiesAnalyze legal, regulatory, and market trends to: Anticipate emerging customer needsIdentify implications for product direction and GTMSurface risks and opportunities earlySynthesize insights intoclear recommendationsthat inform: Product priorities and roadmap discussionsGo‑to‑market messaging and positioningPortfolio and lifecycle reviews led by Product Management leadershipPractice Area Product OwnershipOwn theproduct direction and executionfor assigned legal practice area(s), from discovery through ongoing optimization.Serve as theproduct authority on legal workflows, customer jobs‑to‑be‑done, and use caseswithin the practice area.Translate legal complexity intoclear product requirements and customer‑oriented value narratives.Go‑to‑Market Leadership (Practice‑Area Level)Leadpractice‑area‑specific GTM execution, including: Use cases and workflow definitionValue proposition and positioning inputsProduct and feature readiness for launchPartner with Product Marketing and Marketing teams to: Review and validate marketing copy for legal accuracy and credibilityEnsure campaigns reflect real customer needs and legal workflowsSupport Sales through: Deal support on complex opportunitiesParticipation in customer briefings, webinars, and industry eventsCompetitive positioning guidance at the practice‑area levelCollaboration with Editorial & Lead Product ManagementPartner closely withEditorial leadershipto: Align product direction with content strategy and expertiseEnsure editorial strengths are translated into differentiated product valueWork in close coordination with theLead Product Manager responsible for the content roadmapto: Feed customer and market insight into roadmap prioritizationAlign practice‑area needs with portfolio‑level decisionsSupport coherent execution across content, technology, and GTMThe Senior Product Managerdoes not own the contentroadmap, butis accountable for ensuring it iscustomer‑and market‑driven.Commercial Performance & OptimizationMonitor practice‑area performance indicators such as: Adoption and usageRetention and customer feedbackRevenue and pipeline signals (in partnership with Sales and Finance)Identify opportunities to: Improve positioning, packaging, and messagingEnable cross‑sell andupsellopportunitiesAddress underperforming offeringsProvideinsights and recommendationsinto pricing, packaging, and portfolio discussions (without owning pricing governanceQualifications & ExperienceJD or equivalent legal background strongly preferred; meaningful legalindustryexperience will also be considered.7+ years of experience in product management, legal publishing, legal research, or professional information services.Strong ability to work credibly with attorneys, legal departments, and legal associations.Demonstrated customer‑facing and GTM experience.Proven skill translating legal complexity intoproduct and customer value.Our Interview PracticesTo maintain a fair and genuine hiring process, we kindly ask that all candidates participate in interviews without the assistance of AI tools or external prompts. Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience and actual hiring location.
