TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Bangor, Maine, 04401!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery required License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced FHM, MOABCST Must-Have: Experience in cervical exams, management of insulin drips, magnesium drips, and neonatal resuscitation. Ability to provide lactation support and adhere to safe skin-to-skin protocol. Charge experience in a Labor and Delivery setting is preferred. Description: Immediate start needed. The unit has approximately 1,800 deliveries per year. There are 2 triage rooms and 7 labor rooms in the Labor and Delivery Unit. The unit typically performs 4 scheduled events daily, including cesarean sections. The patient ratio during cervical ripening is 1:1-3. During active labor, the ratio is 1:1. Couplet, postpartum, and antepartum ratios are 3 mother-baby couplets or 3 antepartum/NICU mothers. The unit has a Level III NICU and supports various patient types, including those with pregnancy-induced hypertension, gestational diabetes, and postpartum hemorrhage. Required skills include the ability to titrate Pitocin and assist with epidural placements. There is a designated support team including unit secretaries, charge nurses, and a bed flow facilitator. Anesthesia and respiratory therapy are available 24/7. Fetal monitoring is conducted remotely at the bedside and nurses' station. Floating between units may occur, specifically to antepartum and postpartum. Weekend rotation is expected as part of the scheduling requirements. Holidays will be rotated among staff. Scrubs are provided on-site, and staff should wear street clothes when entering or exiting.
