HR Intern Position

POSITION SUMMARY: As an HR Intern at Alsum Farms & Produce, you will play a vital role in supporting our Human Resources team in various aspects of HR operations and administration. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while contributing to the success of our organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with recruitment activities, including sourcing candidates, conducting initial screenings, and coordinating interviews.
• Support employee onboarding processes, including preparing paperwork, assisting with orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
• Contribute to HR administration tasks, such as maintaining employee records, updating HRIS software, and responding to employee inquiries.
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives, including organizing events, gathering feedback, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
• Participate in training and development efforts, including coordinating training sessions, developing materials, and tracking employee progress.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned, contributing to the overall success of the HR team and the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently enrolled in an Associates or Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new software systems.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Self-motivated and able to function as part of a team
• Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record
• Ability to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
