New Crisis Recovery Center PositionWe are looking for two new team members to join us working at our New Crisis Recovery Center in Wheaton. We are looking for part-time coverage, Thursday through Sunday or Sunday through Wednesday on our second shift, 20 to 24 hours per week. In this role, at our new facility, you will be providing cleaning services and less complex maintenance tasks. This position requires you to have the ability to follow proper cleaning and maintenance techniques and to safely operate heavy-duty floor and carpet care equipment, power tools and general hand tools. Our starting salary is $16.00 per hour, however, it may increase based on experience.ResponsibilitiesSweeps, scrubs, mops, washes, strips, waxes, and buffs floors; dust, waxes, and washes windows, blinds, walls and woodwork.Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and kitchen areas and replenishes supplies.Vacuums rugs; polishes metalwork; sanitizes water fountains; waxes woodwork and doors; washes windows, walls, stairwells, and elevators.Pushes, pulls, and operates powered cleaning equipment such as an auto scrubber, buffing machine, carpet extractor, wet/dry vacuum, etc.;Performs general waste and hazardous material removal.Labels, mixes, and cleaning solutions according to instructions.Troubleshoots and cleans equipment; inspects work for cleanliness standards.Perform some routine grounds maintenance work such as shoveling snow, and salting walkways.Performs routine and less complex building maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, painting, and plumbing repairs.Provides back-up for the delivery of mail and supplies between locations, which includes opening buildings.Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to patient privacy laws; adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality.Maintains required training, licensure, and/or certification; shows sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures; participates in emergency response activities as assigned.Some assignments may require driving vehicles regulated by the Department of Transportation.RequirementsTwo years of experience performing commercial cleaning in a healthcare or hospital type setting and custodial duties which included operating cleaning equipment and completing less complex maintenance tasks; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. This position does not require a valid State of Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL), however if you have one, it may be utilized to drive vehicles regulated by the Department of Transportation.Supplemental InformationWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, push and pull cleaning equipment, reach with hands and/or arms, and lift or move up to 50 pounds. The work environment for this position frequently includes working with cleaning products and chemicals in extreme outside weather conditions.Some knowledge of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment; some knowledge of safety procedures associated with hazardous materials used for cleaning; some knowledge in the completion of routine maintenance tasks; some knowledge of hand-held and power tools used for routine maintenance tasks. Some skill in operating and troubleshooting heavy-duty cleaning equipment; some skill in the proper use of various cleaning products and equipment; some skill in the use of hand-held and power tools; some skill in adhering to written and verbal instructions; some skill in maintaining and replenishing supplies; some skill in verbal and written communication; some skill in developing and maintaining positive and professional relationships with internal and external customers; some skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment.
