Principal Underwriting & Analytics

Prescient Holdings Group (PHG) is a healthcare company focused on optimizing drug access and spend through formulary and rebate services. This role provides expertise and leadership for all pricing and underwriting activities associated with client revenue. Responsibilities Direct, oversee, and ensure the development and provision of revenue estimates and profit &loss analysis for new and existing clients based on RFP or client stipulations. Assist in strategy development around financial quotes that provide optimum cost performance for clients and maximize revenue opportunities for the company. Participate with Finance leadership in developing strategies and financial forecasts for cost performance and revenue maximization. Develop insightful analyses that support continual monitoring and reporting on variances between profit & loss statements and underwriting results. Identify key drivers that cause variation from original proposal assumptions versus actual data. Create strategic and evolving pricing strategies to lead market offering and demonstrate value. Manage large data sets and lead a team to maintain a clean and consistent data environment. Analyze market benchmarks and drivers to develop accurate comparisons of bid feedback and competitive insight. Stay informed on changing market dynamics that impact business operations. Continuously assess potential client needs relative to corporate business objectives. Identify, develop, and introduce process improvement opportunities. Incorporate market drivers into all pricing analyses, including drug cost trending and inflation factors. Oversee development and maintenance of uniform underwriting guidelines and procedures. Direct monitoring and tracking of bid offerings to provide executive reporting on market evolution and improvement areas. Review and guide contractual language related to rebate offers to ensure agreements support underwriting. Interpret financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting theory, and customer financial regulations that impact financial performance outcomes. Participate in discussions with clients or consultants regarding financial offerings and address questions on pricing, caveats, and outcomes. Manage assigned staff in the segment area, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and discipline. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and take corrective action when necessary. Client Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Manage difficult or emotional client situations. Respond promptly to client needs and requests for service and assistance. Solicit client feedback to improve service. Meet commitments to clients. Qualifications BA/BS degree. 8+ years related experience and 8+ years subject‑matter expertise in the area. At least 4+ years leading individual contributors and leaders. Experience in pharmacy‑benefit management or healthcare pricing is preferred. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with large complex databases and data visualization tools. Skills & Competencies Knowledge of liability exposure, cost accounting, and pricing functions in a PBM or healthcare arena. Excellent negotiation and presentation skills; ability to interact with all levels of internal and external partners. Expertise in market analysis for new product price offerings. Strong reasoning, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills. Communication skills suitable for presenting information to managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
