Automotive Parts Manager

Crown Automotive Group has an immediate need for an Automotive Parts Manager to lead the Crown Buick-GMC and Crown Hyundai parts departments. As a multi‑location Parts Manager, you will strive to return a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory through the use of: Proper purchasing procedures Inventory control Staff utilization Security Pricing Merchandising, displaying and advertising Responsibilities Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them. Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all parts department staff. Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the parts department. Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and the do‑it‑yourself public. Establish pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit and maintain customer loyalty. Establish individual parts inventory levels and balance them for maximum turnover. Ensure that parts inventory turns 3.5‑5 times per year and monitor obsolescence. Ensure that all parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from the factory. Supervise stock order procedures and enforce a policy on the special ordering of parts, ensuring that stock orders represent at least 80 percent of all orders. Analyze sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals. Develop and administer an aggressive wholesale parts program to generate profit. Ensure that the same high‑quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers. Work with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs. Hold weekly department meetings. Analyze departmental operations and storage layout and revise as needed for maximum effectiveness. Provide technical assistance to parts department employees. Coordinate a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork. Direct shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing. Monitor daily reports such as DOE, DOC, and sales productivity. Ensure all lost sales are logged in the dealership computer system. Direct outside parts and counter sales efforts, including a telemarketing program to keep in contact with customers. Takes advantage of all manufacturers' inventory co‑op advertising. Develop, enforce, and monitor guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Handle customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines. Ensure that all dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made. Assist in the collection of past‑due accounts. Enforce safety requirements, including forklift training and operation, processing of MSDS sheets on all products carried, and OSHA Right-to-Know. Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts sales. Develop sales promotions. Attend department meetings as requested. Report any safety issues immediately to management. Qualifications Minimum of five years dealership parts experience. Basic phone operation, typing, calculator, and math skills.
