Pharmacy ManagerTo plan, coordinate and manage pharmacy and DMEPOS operations so as to control costs, maintain projected profit margins, meet and/or exceed sales goals, provide a pleasant, courteous experience for the patient and positive working conditions for workforce members. To make, mix and compound prescriptions for the patient and give consultations when requestedDuties:Plans department performance to comply with company guidelinesReviews department planning, business plan, reports and scopes of service to achieve continued growth and financial stabilityControls and evaluates pharmacy performance to achieve continued growth and financial stabilityEnsures pharmacy standards are met so as to reinforce facility acceptance, which is reflected in retention of facilitiesNeeds to perform all aspects of the sales process, be familiar with and able to fully explain the medication dispensing systems utilized by the pharmacy; provide on-site facility staff trainingImplements and supervises an inventory control systemFollows or adjusts merchandising in accordance with the inventory control systemMonitors returns and outdates closelyPerforms or monitors competitive pricingMakes price adjustments after monthly gross margins are assessedMonitors and adjusts department buying and ordering for inventory control, inventory turns and operational efficiencyOversee and be familiar with the billing of resident and facility accountsDevelops and maintains plans for continued growth and development, making adjustments quarterly, as neededContinually assesses department scheduling and adjusts based on facility filling needs and delivery schedulesMonitors and controls overtimeAssesses department so that organization, work discipline and morale is consistent with pharmacy standardsReviews all expenses and implements changes for improved cash flow managementEnsures safe working conditions are maintainedProvides and monitors safety trainingMonitors safety reports and makes adjustments to improve safety recordDirects or performs all department personnel functions in compliance with company guidelinesProvides opportunities for workforce member development and advancementSets an example of personal integrity, appearance and ethical business practices which provides a standard of conduct for all department personnelQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Pharmacist in good standing, maintaining current state professional licensure. Present a professional stature. Courteous with patients and staff.
