Job Description

Temporary- ICU RN - Days- Genesys

$60/hour

Shift: 7:00am to 7:30pm

**Responsibilities**

As an ICU RN, you will assume critical clinical responsibilities essential to patient care delivery:

• Provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit, with assignment to clinical areas of greatest need based on organizational staffing requirements and patient acuity levels
• Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions and comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with established clinical protocols and standards of practice
• Maintain consistent clinical presence through a structured schedule requiring 36 hours per week (72 hours per pay period), including every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday assignments, for a 60-90 day period
• Demonstrate professional commitment to a 56-112 day assignment duration, ensuring continuity of care and team stability during the temporary engagement period
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and support operational excellence within the ICU environment
• Administer medications and manage medication-related documentation with accuracy and adherence to institutional protocols and regulatory standards
• Monitor, record, and communicate vital signs, hemodynamic parameters, and patient status changes to the healthcare team in a timely manner
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment and technology, ensuring proper functioning and patient safety
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and self-care measures to promote understanding and engagement in care
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) documentation to support clinical decision-making and continuity of care
• Report quality concerns, adverse events, and near-miss incidents through appropriate institutional channels to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements established by the Michigan State Board of Nursing and institutional compliance standards

**Required:**

• Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years of related nursing work experience, with preference for intensive care unit or acute care settings
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize patient care needs based on acuity levels
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Physical and mental stamina to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced intensive care environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday assignments

**Preferred:**

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
• Specialty certification in critical care nursing (CCRN) or related intensive care specialty
• Prior temporary or contract nursing experience
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and critical care equipment operation
• Knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices specific to intensive care settings
