Project Director - Soho House Flatiron

Overview The Project Director – Soho House Flatiron is a role leading the overall development of a new flagship, 161‑key Soho House by Q2 2028, coordinating with design, development, operations departments, external consultants, and key stakeholders to guide planning, construction and pre‑opening phases. In addition to managing day‑to‑day physical realization, the role ensures that the project’s high‑quality execution contributes to broader Group goals of enhancing member experience and retention in New York and the Americas. Responsibilities Business Leader: Clear communicator conveying design and construction standards; provide expert decision‑making to minimize design mistakes, saving time and money. Design / Operations Integration: Collaborate with key Design and Operations directors to implement forward‑looking decisions considering 5‑ and 10‑year horizons. Communication: Work with local officials and form an internal “Soho House Flatiron Board” with key stakeholders; conduct monthly board meetings. Development & Delivery Excellence: Manage overall project execution (design, planning, bidding, permitting, construction, handover); appoint and manage third‑party consultants; maintain design scope; oversee tendering; manage budget and timeline; communicate progress; maintain risk register; liaise with NYC officials; foster a safe, collaborative work environment. Qualifications 10+ years experience in a Project Director, Development Director or similar role leading large‑scale, urban redevelopments for a major hospitality brand. Proven track record of 5+ NYC‑based construction/re‑development projects, including shell & core and high‑end fit‑out. Intimate understanding of NYC planning, building and landmarks codes. Extensive experience negotiating multi‑trade construction packages and maintaining GC/trade networks in the Tri‑State area. Experience in a global hospitality, lifestyle or luxury brand environment. Strong understanding of legal, financial, and design aspects of hospitality development. Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with project management tools and enterprise reporting systems. Ability to travel within the U.S. and 2‑4 times per year internationally. Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development, Architecture, Business Administration, Engineering or related field. Physical Requirements Seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands. Work on feet for at least 8 hours. Navigate fast paced movements across the club. Move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds. Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb.
