IT Support Technician

Wake Preparatory Academy is now accepting applications for a Part-Time IT Support Technician for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check. An IT Support Technician provides technical assistance and support to computer users within the school. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with network connectivity, and ensuring that IT systems run smoothly. The technician serves as the first point of contact for technical support, responding to inquiries, resolving problems, and escalating issues as needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in answering, evaluating and prioritizing requests for assistance from staff experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other IT related issues. Assist in installing computers, software, and peripheral equipment. Repair of computers, software, and other equipment with guidance from senior team member. Maintain records of work in progress and completed jobs. Assist in miscellaneous tasks as needed. Required to lift up to 50 pounds in support of hardware installations. Other duties as assigned. Leadership Team collaboration Planning, execution, and problem-solving skills Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent At least 1-2 years of experience in a technical support role or related field Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar credentials. Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and hardware (e.g., routers, switches).
