The APP Manager will collaborate closely with cardiology, advanced practice, nursing, and administrative leadership to advance high-quality, coordinated outpatient cardiovascular care.This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of ambulatory cardiovascular care delivery at one of the nation's premier academic medical centers, while maintaining meaningful clinical practice and leading a dedicated team of cardiology APPs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESClinical Leadership & Patient Care• Maintain an active ambulatory clinical practice providing evidence-based cardiovascular care to patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions• Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments; develop, implement, and evaluate diagnostic and treatment plans; and coordinate longitudinal follow-up• Support timely access, transitions of care, medication management, patient education, and coordination with specialty and primary care teams• Serve as a clinical expert and resource for the APP team and the interdisciplinary ambulatory cardiovascular care team• Participate in ambulatory cardiology quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice implementationTeam Management & Supervision• Directly oversee and manage the performance of a team of ambulatory cardiology APPs• Conduct hiring, onboarding, orientation, training, and scheduling for APP team members• Provide regular performance coaching, mentoring, and professional development support• Complete performance appraisals and address disciplinary matters as needed• Foster a positive, collaborative team culture that supports clinical excellence, patient access, and professional growthProgram Development & Strategic Collaboration• Partner with Heart & Vascular Institute leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for ambulatory cardiology APP practice and care delivery• Contribute to operational structures, standardized clinical workflows, and team-based ambulatory cardiovascular care models• Participate in institute and division planning meetings and strategic initiatives• Support coordination across ambulatory cardiology practices and transitions between inpatient, procedural, and outpatient settings• Identify opportunities to improve patient access, panel management, continuity, quality, and program growthAdministrative & Operational Responsibilities• Ensure appropriate staffing coverage and daily clinical operations for the ambulatory cardiology APP team• Monitor team productivity, patient access, scheduling, quality metrics, and clinical outcomes• Partner with practice leadership to optimize referral pathways, appointment availability, in-basket management, and continuity of care• Participate in Heart & Vascular Institute meetings, committees, and hospital initiatives• Collaborate with cardiologists, nursing, pharmacy, care coordination, administrative staff, and other interdisciplinary partners• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, billing standards, and professional practice standardsEssential Functions-Performs all essential functions of an advanced practice provider, providing direct patient care. -Directly oversees and is accountable for the performance of a team of APPs and/or other direct reports. -Hires, performance manages, and completes performance appraisals for a team of APPs and/or other direct reports. -Orients, trains, and schedules staff. -Assists with quality assurance programs as needed to help implement quality improvement efforts. -Ensures continuing education and teaching for APPs. -Acts as liaison between the hospital, physician and nursing staff, and other APPs. -Ensures APPs are following proper billing compliance rules and methodology.QualificationsEducation & LicensureMaster's in Nursing (MSN) (or) DNP (or) PhD Degree in Nursing required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.Completion of a Master’s or post-Master’s nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Satisfactory completion of an approved formal education program designed to prepare professional nurses to practice as nurse practitioners.
