In this role, you will lead the preparation of investigations, designs and project development for water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collections systems throughout the region. Additionally, you will help to grow our Water business in Southwest Connecticut / Southeast New York State and help to provide leadership to our team of Water professionals. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Project Leadership: Direct the technical and production work of project teams, administering contractual aspects of the project, and acting as primary contact for client in the following types of projects: Multi-disciplinary treatment facility designs alternatives analyses and economic evaluationsCollection and distribution projects to include linear and pumping systemsTreatability studies including bench testing and pilot plant evaluationsFinancial and Operational reviewConstruction phase engineering servicesClient Relationships and Water Business Growth: Our strategic growth goals in the region include expanding our relationship with large water clients in Southwest Connecticut / Southeast New York State. You will be a part of this growth in the following ways: Working with Business Group and Market leadership, assist in business development, sales and marketing of Water projects, with a specific focus on large clients aligned with our growth strategy Lead certain pursuits and proposal development Build effective relationships with the Business Group’s key clients in this areaDirect pricing, scoping and win strategies for new workActively participate in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the GHD brandPromote and cross sell other GHD servicesTeam leadership and engagement: As our client services grow, our team will continue to grow as well. We expect you will grow into the role of leadership of our team. Manage a group of 10 water professionals, attending to utilization, performance and engagementCollaborate with Business Group leadership and other senior members of the business to drive positive outcomes for our employeesDevelop and mentor our young professionals and graduates Demonstrate support and compliance with the requirements of the GHD HSE Management system and management participation matrixWhat you will bring to the team:Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or closely related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license in CT and/or NY or ability to acquire it15+ years of relevant water engineering experience; wastewater treatment and/or large diameter pipeline design experience a plusKnowledge of water regulations including wastewater treatment and conveyance, surface water treatment, lead and copper and disinfection byproduct rulesStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independentlyWilling and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as neededInterested in this opportunity?
