Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Respiratory Therapist providing essential respiratory care services during night shifts on a PRN basis. This role involves delivering compassionate, patient-centered respiratory therapy under physician orders, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation for adult and geriatric patients.

Job Summary

Plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapy treatments, collaborating closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care. Maintain efficient operations and a positive work environment while supporting organizational values.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results to develop and administer respiratory therapy treatment plans.
• Perform pulmonary function tests and manage therapies such as bronchopulmonary drainage and breathing exercises.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, including vital signs and blood gas analysis, adjusting treatments as necessary.
• Supervise respiratory therapy aides and technicians, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment.
• Participate in discharge planning and educate patients, families, and caregivers on home respiratory care and equipment.
• Contribute to policy development, protocol implementation, and staff training initiatives.
• Engage in special projects and support continuous improvement efforts.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current unrestricted respiratory care practitioner license for the state of Washington.
• National Board for Respiratory Care Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) upon hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within one year.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of respiratory care theories and clinical practices.
• Ability to assess patient needs and tailor treatments across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
• Proficiency with respiratory therapy equipment and technology, including electronic medical records.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare teams and patients.
• Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise sound judgment.

Physical Requirements

Includes frequent lifting and carrying of equipment up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech within normal range with or without corrective devices.

Work Environment

This position offers 10-hour night shifts on a PRN basis within a supportive healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest region, known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities.
