Schedule

2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

• Shift premium available

• Full-time schedule

• Overtime opportunities as needed

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines

• Load and verify CNC programs for production runs

• Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and workholding

• Perform minor program edits and offset adjustments as needed

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions

• Perform first-piece, in-process, and audit inspections

• Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection equipment

• Monitor part quality and make machine adjustments to maintain specifications

• Complete setup changeovers efficiently and accurately

• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues

• Document inspection results and production information

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and efficiency

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

✅ Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining experience

OR

✅ 1 year of CNC machining experience combined with trade school training

✅ Experience setting up and operating CNC mills, including 5-axis equipment

✅ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings

✅ Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment

✅ Strong math skills and understanding of machining calculations

✅ Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code fundamentals

✅ Experience performing machine setups and job changeovers

✅ Ability to perform first-piece and audit inspections

✅ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

✅ Ability to work 2nd shift hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school education in CNC machining or machining technology

• Experience with Haas CNC machines

• Familiarity with Fanuc controls

• CNC programming experience

• CNC grinding experience

• Experience with lathes and additional CNC equipment

• Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment

• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
