Senior Family Law Attorney – Minneapolis, MN | $10,000 Hiring Bonus Available

Atticus Family Law is looking for a Senior Family Law Attorney ready to do meaningful work, lead with experience, and join a firm that genuinely invests in its people.

You'll take ownership of complex matters, shape case strategy, and play a real leadership role within a collaborative, team-first environment. Compensation:

$145,000+ yearly

Responsibilities:

• Lead case strategy and legal analysis - Drive strategic planning for complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, parenting time, and spousal maintenance, applying Minnesota statutes and case law to guide direction.
• Manage discovery and evidence - Oversee discovery, review financial documentation, and synthesize key facts to strengthen case strategy.
• Draft pleadings and litigation materials - Prepare motions, affidavits, memoranda, and trial briefs that are clear, strategic, and persuasive.
• Prepare for and lead court proceedings - Handle hearings, motion practice, settlement conferences, and trials with confidence and attention to detail.
• Advocate in the courtroom - Present witness testimony and evidence in a compelling, professional manner.
• Negotiate and resolve disputes - Work with opposing counsel and represent clients in settlement discussions and mediation with a solutions-focused approach.
• Guide clients directly - Build strong client relationships while delivering clear, strategic legal advice throughout the case.
• Communicate with precision - Draft substantive correspondence with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
• Mentor support staff - Review and guide the work of paralegals and legal staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality output.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years leading family law matters in Minnesota.
• Active Minnesota Bar license in good standing.
• Meticulous attention to detail, with a low tolerance for loose ends.
• Emotionally intelligent, calm, and professional even in high-stakes moments.
• Confident communicator, in writing and in person.
• Thrives managing multiple cases and deadlines at once.
• Sharp organizational and calendar management instincts.
• Tech-savvy with legal and case management systems.
• Team player, ready to pitch in when the moment calls for it.
• Adaptable and quick on your feet when priorities shift.
