Their child sponsorship program helps children get the healthcare, education, life skills and confidence they need to create lasting change in their lives and communities.This is a field-based position which will see you and your team working in different busy public areas, streets, and events in Washington, D.C. each day. As a fundraiser/canvasser, you'll be engaging in conversations with members of the public, and inspiring them to become a supporter of Children International through a regular financial gift. Each and every conversation you have will help children around the world to break the cycle of poverty for good!You don't need to have any previous experience in fundraising or canvassing - we give you (great!) paid training to fully prepare you for the role!### What We're Looking For* Confident communicators who aren't afraid to strike up a conversation!* Activists at heart! A passion or interest in poverty alleviation, social justice or humanitarian causes.* An unshakeable belief that each and every conversation can make an impact.People who have previously worked in retail, customer service, hospitality/food service, sales or other people-focussed positions will find they have a ton of transferrable skills for this position! Likewise, if you have experience in political canvassing and community organizing, your skillset will translate to this position. We also find people from creative backgrounds (including performing arts and acting) thrive in the role.
