Job Title

Description of Job Duty:

1. Utilizing the Oracle Cash Management module, this position will reconcile all bank accounts for all TTU entities, including the University, TTU Foundation, and Tech Farms, LLC. These reconciliations must be completed in a timely manner. State Audit considers this to be within 30 days of the last day of the prior month to avoid audit findings. This process involves communicating with all Business Office personnel whose transactions would affect cash management to determine if something has been entered correctly. Reviews all transactions for six University bank accounts and one for Tech Farms, LLC and reconciles them separately for each account. This includes a reconciliation for multiple entities on one shared account. Compares bank statement balances to general ledger balances and makes recommendations to other Business Office staff when something does not appear to reconcile. Final reconciliations are signed by Senior Vice President of Planning and Finance after review by AVP for Business & Fiscal Affairs. This position will work with and train appropriate backup personnel on the Talon cash management module and bank reconciliation processes.

2. Reconciles unclaimed property on a monthly basis. Annually, notifications must be sent to all payees on the outstanding unclaimed property listing. Any stale dated check that is not rewritten must be remitted to the State of Tennessee or other applicable state that requires separate reporting. Responsible for remitting unclaimed property totals to each state electronically and communicating information to Assistant Controller.

3. Performs other financial reconciliations as needed or requested by Business Office management.

4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Commensurate with education and experience. Level P2, Grade 11.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a business or related field. At least two years of relevant work experience.

Prior experience with bank or other accounting reconciliations, Oracle ERP experience, Financial related higher education experience. Excellent mathematical and procedural analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to meet frequent deadlines. Knowledge of software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
