Details Work in the Medical ICU (MICU 4C) of a hospital setting 13-week assignment with rotating 7A-7:30P/7P-7:30A shifts Every other weekend required No call requirements 36 guaranteed hours per week Floating required per facility's floating policy Uses Meditech documentation system Common procedures include chest tubes, trachs, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, art lines, NG tubes, foley catheters, and dressing changes Requirements Active TX RN license or compact license required (temporary license not accepted) Current BLS and ACLS certifications required NIH Stroke Certification required Minimum 2-3 years of recent ICU experience required Strong critical thinking skills required MICU and MSICU background preferred IABP and CRRT exposure preferred Meditech experience preferred No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Deliver critical care nursing services to medically complex ICU patients Badge in and out for each shift and take a full 30-minute lunch Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, with tardiness defined as clocking in after 6:45 Navy scrub top and pants required, with navy or white scrub jacket permitted Nails must be clean and healthy; hair neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; facial hair neatly trimmed Visible body art should be covered when feasible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered American Traveler Job ID P-748202.
