Job Opportunity: GI Oncologist

Our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible GI Oncologist to join the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Transplantation at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.

You will have the chance to influence a program that boasts a robust multidisciplinary framework, active clinical trial capabilities, and a strong institutional commitment to establishing itself as a leading center for GI cancer care and research on a national scale.

As a member of our collaborative team, you will focus on various GI malignancies, including pancreatic, hepatobiliary, colorectal, gastric, and esophageal cancers, while serving one of the largest referral populations in the Upper Midwest. The expectations for faculty rank and research involvement are adaptable and will be customized to align with your experience and career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional inpatient and outpatient oncology care with a specialization in GI cancers.
• Engage in multidisciplinary GI tumor boards and disease-specific clinics, including telehealth services.
• Initiate and lead clinical trials and/or translational research projects that resonate with your academic interests.
• Collaborate with investigators at the Masonic Cancer Center to enhance GI cancer therapies and translational research.
• Provide mentorship to medical students, residents, Hematology/Oncology fellows, and junior faculty members.
• Contribute to academic scholarship through publications, presentations, and participation in national scientific forums.
• Take part in institutional and cancer center initiatives aimed at advancing clinical programs and research.

About Our Division:

The Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Transplantation comprises over 50 faculty members specializing in malignant hematology, blood and marrow transplantation, classical hematology, and solid tumor oncology. Our faculty are recognized nationally and internationally for their contributions to cellular therapy, immunotherapy, translational oncology, and innovations in clinical trials. We hold active NIH and American Society of Hematology training grants and are deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of oncology researchers.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited ACGME fellowship training program.
• Board eligible or certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology/Oncology.
• Possession or ability to obtain a medical license and DEA registration in the State of Minnesota, meeting the necessary criteria for credentialing and privileges.
• Eligibility to receive work authorization in the U.S. from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status as per VISA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fellowship training or specialized focus in gastrointestinal oncology.
• Experience in clinical trials, including investigator-initiated research.
• Demonstrated academic productivity through publications, presentations, or grant activities.
• Interest in establishing a disease-focused clinical or translational research program in GI malignancies.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position is jointly employed by our organization and the University. The total salary is competitive and aligned with AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, corresponding to clinical responsibilities, is provided through our organization. The base salary range for this role is between $270,000 and $465,407, depending on experience, qualifications, and clinical full-time equivalent (cFTE). The salary from the University will be based on the academic contributions of the individual hired.
