Peoplesoft/HCM Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary This position at UT Southwestern involves working with departments across the organization to provide subject‑matter and technical expertise for designing, implementing, and supporting solutions across PS HCM, with a focus on Payroll for North America, Base Benefits and Timekeeping utilizing UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM). The role serves as the lead responsible for payroll support and integration between PeopleSoft HCM and UKG Pro WFM, with a complete understanding of payroll functions within the PeopleSoft HCM system and compliance with Texas State Higher Education Institutions requirements. Primary Job Duties Analyze business systems and procedures to produce end‑to‑end solution designs that enhance efficiency and maintain data integrity. Provide functional design and ongoing support for PeopleSoft HCM, including integration with UKG Pro WFM, PeopleSoft FSCM, and other benefit‑state‑centered integrations. Create concise functional and technical specifications, test plans, and scripts; develop, deploy, and manage integrations, interfaces, queries, and reports. Collaborate with technical teams to translate complex functional specifications into technical solutions and create test cases. Leverage system functionality and analytics to enable data‑driven decision making for customers. Communicate regularly with all organization levels to deliver user and business needs successfully. Work closely with Training and Communication teams to ensure users understand and can incorporate changes. Provide after‑hours and on‑call support for elevated ‘Service Desk’ issues. Maintain status of existing integrations by monitoring errors, performing root cause analysis, and implementing fixes or enhancements. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to engage business partners and solution vendors and build compelling value propositions. Serve as subject‑matter expert for all audits from State and Internal Audit. Analyze and recommend improvements for HCM Payroll for North America. Validate people‑soft payroll processes and data during payroll processing. Maintain payroll and benefits tables and develop queries using SQL or Query Manager. At least 5 years of business systems and/or project experience with exposure to system development, testing, installation, and training. Job Duties (Additional) Apply ERP implementation expertise to lead teams through design, configuration, and implementation of ERP modules or database components. Conduct fit/gap analysis and evaluate design choices to make best‑practice decisions. Ensure integration and consistency of business process design across ERP modules. Identify customization, interface, report, and conversion requirements. Facilitate decision‑making processes for successful project execution. Define user authorization requirements and resolve related issues as needed. Create and coordinate test scenarios and scripts; participate in testing and validate results. Develop and deliver end‑user training and materials; provide post‑implementation support. Cooperate with resources to identify, document, and resolve issues; assist with data mapping and validation. Communicate internally and externally about the business system implementation and ongoing support; develop and maintain project plans; provide status reports. Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation for timely system support. Supervise and mentor lower‑level staff, including subject‑matter experts and business analysts; manage staff hiring, training, and performance. Perform other duties as assigned.
