Schedule: Day shift, 06:45-19:15. 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Patient ratios: 1:1 days, 1:1 nights, 2:1 weekends. 13-26 week contracts available. Float requirement applies.

Highlights:

• Post Open Heart Recovery Unit with thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR patients
• Advanced cardiac care including CRRT, Impella, IABP, ECMO, and VAD management
• 14-bed unit with daily census of 11-14 patients and comprehensive interdisciplinary support
• EMR: Epic; medication system: Pyxis; self-scheduling environment
• Full week hospital orientation provided with ongoing unit-specific training
• Scrub colors: Navy, white, or combination of both

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years critical care experience required
• CVICU or open heart experience mandatory
• Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, ECMO, IABP, post cardiac surgery care directly from OR, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, TAVR, ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD), arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac drips, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Preferred skills: Accessing/managing ports, titrating vasoactive drips, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and ventilator management
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability to complete 8-10 hours of pre-start modules online
