Career Center Coordinator

Job Description Reporting to the Associate Director of Employer Relations, the Career Center Coordinator actively supports a student-centered career center that serves undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in engineering, the sciences, business and management, the humanities, and the fine arts. The Coordinator will represent the Career Center to students, employers, and the Stevens community with a commitment to professionalism, customer service, and continuous improvement. The Coordinator will be the first point of contact for initial outreach to the Career Center and will be housed at the front desk. Responsibilities Provide support to the Associate Director of Employer Relations & Career Center Operations to execute career center operations and initiatives. Assist in executing all Career Center events, collaborating with event leads; this includes reserving space, preparing budgets, creating room layouts, assigning roles, ordering food and supplies, requesting marketing, and using the Coursedog room reservation system. Ensure operational efficiency of the Career Center with a focus on excellence and customer service. Maintain all equipment, student waiting area, and employer interview offices in good condition. Assist the Senior Director and Associate Director of Employer Relations & Operations and other career center staff as needed. Schedule meetings, manage calendars, coordinate travel arrangements, process invoices and credit card expenses, and create various reports. Provide administrative support for the department’s front desk operations. Hire, train, and supervise up to 10+ Student Assistants, ensuring they understand front desk operations, student and employer check‑ins, phone etiquette, and overall career center functions. Provide developmental feedback to Student Assistants as needed. Answer the Career Center main phone line, take accurate messages, and forward them to appropriate staff. Complete a variety of projects assigned by career center management. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. At least one year of work experience, including internships. Self‑starter who demonstrates the ability to achieve goals and meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills. High level of professionalism with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with high attention to detail. Knowledge and Skills Understanding of computer applications and proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom or MS Teams. Excellent organizational, written, oral communication, and presentation skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Self‑starter with the ability to adapt to change and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends to attend university or career center events. Department Career Services Compensation Range In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $41,400.00 – $55,200.00. This range represents the University’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
