Join us and be part of the team delivering the solar technologies that power ambitious missions beyond Earth.As a Test & Evaluation Engineer, you design, develop, integrate, and execute automated test systems for verification, validation, and production test programs in aerospace, defense, and industrial environments. You combine hands-on software development and hardware development with test planning, data analysis, and close collaboration with systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.Spectrolab’s factory is located in the north side of Los Angeles, offering access to the city’s world-class culture, dining, and entertainment. The Sylmar location provides convenient “reverse commute” options for people living across the San Fernando Valley—from Sherman Oaks to Pasadena—as well as straightforward commutes from Santa Clarita and other northern Los Angeles County areas.Position Responsibilities:Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivitySupport development of test systemsImprove test systems according to lessons learnedBuild data processing tools and algorithmsDevelop calibration procedures and softwareSupport debriefing of the test teamSupport analysis, processing, and formatting of data to customer requirementsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Willing and able to work 2nd shift and weekends if neededExperience programming in LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, C#, C/C++, MATLAB, and related experienceHardware and software integration experienceTroubleshooting experience in software-hardware integration and electro-mechanical systemsTest systems design experienceSoftware validation experienceExperience using electronic test equipment, test instrumentation, or data acquisition hardware such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and source metersExperience with version control (Git), continuous integration for test software, and ticketing systems (JIRA)Experience with other automated test frameworksExperience in aerospace, defense, or regulated industries, and knowledge of relevant standardsExperience with environmental test chambers, vibration testing, shock testing, and thermal cyclingConflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
