About the Position

We are seeking a Locum Non Invasive Cardiologist to provide ongoing General Cardiology coverage across the Murrells Inlet & Georgetown, SC areas. The physician will provide inpatient cardiology consultations, round on hospitalized patients, perform cardioversions & TEE procedures, supervise stress testing, and provide cardiology call coverage.

This is an ongoing opportunity with a structured 7 day coverage schedule , offering a broad General Cardiology scope in a hospital based setting.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide General Cardiology consultations
• Round on inpatient cardiology patients
• Evaluate & manage hospitalized cardiology patients
• Perform TEE procedures
• Perform cardioversions
• Supervise stress testing
• Provide cardiology call coverage during the assigned coverage period
• Provide night & weekend call coverage for the additional service location
• Coordinate care with Interventional Cardiology and other specialists
• Prioritize weekend stress testing when required
• Maintain timely & accurate clinical documentation in the EHR
• Collaborate with hospital based physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Coverage Details

• Ongoing locum tenens coverage
• 7 day coverage blocks
• Coverage runs Monday 7:00 AM through the following Monday 7:00 AM
• Primary onsite coverage in Murrells Inlet, SC
• Additional General Cardiology coverage in Georgetown, SC
• Night & weekend call coverage from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend call runs Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM
• Average inpatient volume at the primary location: approximately 90 to 100 overall inpatients
• Additional location census: approximately 55 to 60 patients per day
• Inpatient volume at the additional location is generally low
• STEMI patients are admitted by Interventional Cardiology
• Weekend morning stress testing must be prioritized over primary location rounds when applicable

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of required Cardiology fellowship
• Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years
• Active South Carolina medical license
• Ability to provide General Cardiology services
• Experience with inpatient cardiology preferred
• Experience performing TEE & cardioversions
• Experience supervising stress testing
• Ability to provide overnight & weekend call coverage
