JOB SUMMARY:Bartenders primary responsibilities are to properly and quickly execute quality focused cocktails, beer, and wine using established recipes, techniques, and procedures outlined in basic, bar, and various bar training. Keep the bar area clean, stocked, and functioning smoothly. Provide assistance in all additional duties as needed. Promote a positive work environment by maintaining a respectful cooperation with all membersESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Take/serve orders and answer questions or make recommendations for other productsCollaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staffDeal with complaints or problems with a positive attitudePromote dedication from customersProtect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policiesHelp patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questionsGreet and interact with guest(s) with warmth and professionalism as they arrive.Have thorough understanding of table numbers and position numbersExhibit mastery in your cocktail, beer, wine, and beverage knowledge especially those on our menus but also attend La Corsha beverage classes and seek out information outside of our bar manual on a continual basis to assist you with unexpected guest(s) inquiries and requestsKnow food, menu descriptions and ingredients used in items, and be able to make proper recommendations to guest(s)Offer, take order, and serve any and all food and beverage items to bar guest(s)Time the firing of food accordingly to the set standard amount of time it takes for a particular dish to be made as well as the time constraints of the guest(s)Prepare and make drinks for guest(s) at the bar and for dinning and bar servers in an accurate and timely manner.Perform side workMaintain and clean and constantly replenished bar area at all times. Manage spills immediately and neatly.Properly take/ring up/fire to-go orders that are handed to you from the host stand or called in from the bar phone.Have an abundant knowledge and willingness to learn our systemsTake messages and deliver accurately and timelyHandle cash and credit transactions including successful transfers for guests who wish to extend their existing bar tabs to their tableAssist in bussing and resetting tables as needed.Provide information to guests as requestedPerform other customer service related requests to guestsHelp other team members in their duties when time allowsPerform additional duties when management requestsMust adhere to Second Bar policies as well as IRS laws in regards to reporting cash tips and gratuities.Understand that guest service and hospitality is above all.Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining processConclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to returnObtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patronsContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededPerform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisorFill in for absent staff as neededAssist with special events as neededAdhere to grooming and appearance standards consistentlyPromptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessaryKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESMust be able to convey information and ideas clearlyMust be able to evaluate and choose alternate courses of action quickly and accuratelyMust be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessaryMust have the ability to gather information from all sources available and know how to use this information to best resolve a problem or needMust be effective in listening to and understanding the concerns and issues raised by other employees or customersMust be able to prioritize work as neededMust communicate effectively with all levels of managementMaintain high standards of personal appearance and groomingMaintain regular attendanceAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers and patronsMust be flexible to provide assistance to management team in a 24/7 operating environmentMust have reliable transportationQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of high school diploma / equivalencyMust possess English Language Skills sufficient to fully comprehend job assignments, including the ability to read, write and communicate in fluent EnglishBasic Math SkillsMust have Food Handlers and TABC CertificationsCompleted BarSmarts sections 1-3 with a passing gradeHands on experience in cashier dutiesAbility to remember recipes, menu items, promotions, and specialsPrevious serving / bartending experience requiredMust have advanced knowledge of culinary preparationExcellent oral communication skills requiredPositive interpersonal skills requiredExtensive knowledge of wine, spirits, beer and other beveragesMust have experience in resolving guest complaints and issues to ensure 100% guest satisfactionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Working extended hours may be required as neededRegularly required to stand, walk, use repetitive wrist and finger movement, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlWork standing on feet for extended periods of time, approximately 8+ hours per dayOccasionally lifting, pulling or pushing up to 50 lbs #J-18808-Ljbffr
