Quality Inspection Technician

Summary: The Quality Inspection Technician is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections and tests to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. This role involves using various inspection tools and equipment, documenting results, identifying non-conformances, and working closely with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement and maintain high-quality standards. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Perform incoming, in process, and final inspections and tests which includes but is not limited to inspection of intricate castings, components, instruments and apparatus, and large and expensive machines or equipment to ensure conformance with design specification and various quality and industry standards. Aid with development of inspection instructions/requirements, gages, devices, procedures, and monitoring of their application. Create and maintain CMM programs. Perform calibration, CMM inspection, surface plate inspection layouts, and other material and process analysis as needed. Participate in such quality improvement activities as root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action. Perform department lead duties as required. Perform and process inspection and calibration activities at an acceptable rate. Maintain acceptable attendance record, acceptable overall work record, and purchase the required tools for the classification. Perform training activities as required. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. Perform light preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties for areas and equipment in assigned work center. Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision. Perform other related duties as deemed necessary by the Supervision or Management. Minimum Qualifications: Requires thorough knowledge and understanding of CMM programming and operation. Thorough knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, a general understanding of electrical and/or mechanical principles, gage use, and inspection techniques. Specialized knowledge of the specific type of products and processes being manufactured, together with a high degree of sound judgment. Demonstrated ability adhere to quality standards and perform basic prescribed inspections using a variety of measurement gages and testing equipment. Experience and knowledge of basic mechanical principles, testing procedures, basic hydraulics. High School Diploma or GED, with above average mechanical ability. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow processes, procedures, and policies. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, and company and industry specific specifications. Experience with Microsoft Office programs including but not limited Excel, and Word. Experience with MRP/ERP software. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with coworkers, supervision, and management. Must be able to meet physical demands, with or without accommodation. Must be able to work any assigned shift.
